I've seen a few Youtube videos regarding shaders with modpacks and they show the game running so well, with setting MUCH higher than mine (4x shadow res etc) so I just know there has to be something I am doing wrong or have not done yet. I've tried tinkering with windowed/fullscreen, multi-core/openGL, fast math, etc but with mixed results. Perhaps a specific combination of game settings or another file/version of Optifine would do? It looks like my current version is much more shader friendly than the previous one so I haven't tested the previous version yet. I also have Java 64 bit installed and the latest GPU drivers. My PC is composed of an i7 4790k 4.7ghz, 1080ti, and 16gigs of 1600mhz RAM, all on Windows 8.1. I am trying to play "The 1.710 Modpack" from the Technic platform and I have installed Optifine 1.7.10_HD_U_E7, the 128x Sphax texture pack, and Chocapic13 shaders (although I apparently do not need the "shaders mod" to run them, as the client crashes instantly when I try to use it even after editing the "optionsshaders" file to set the specular and normal map's to "false"). I would honestly be fine with 30+ fps, anything less than 30 is too sluggish for me. I've gotten it working but the performance is just horrible, 15-30 fps. I recently started playing again after being stopping fora few years and I just HAVE to have shaders one of the Technic packs. (#spoiler) = neat!
